How my journey as a content writer started

I have always had a penchant for writing. But my occupational journey as a content writer began at IndiaMART, India's largest online B2B marketplace. I joined their organization in June 2006 and started learning content writing - and the technicalities related to it. My initial task was to write for travel websites and portals. I created original content from existing resources, sourced new content, updated old content and sought out new content sources.

At the company, I also got training in SEO and digital marketing as a whole. Soon, I was delegated the responsibility to manage an entire team of content writers and monitor their performance. This is how I got an opportunity to work in close collaboration with web designers to help them create layout designs for better content presentation and build niche client websites from scratch.

In the years that followed, I worked with companies like VHMnetwork LLC (New York), VirtualHelper247 (Edina, Minnesota) and Pickaweb (London) as a full time, home-based content manager.

The mind is a like a saw whose blade needs regular sharpening. Since day one of my professional career, I have continued to learn and add to my skillset.

That is how I stay sharp at the job tasks I do.

Even though content writing has always been my foremost job, my range of skills allows me to easily fit into a variety of roles – content manager, SEO professional, digital marketing strategiest and web analyst. I’m also a guest author.
